Gmail and Google Drive have global problems


Many users report being unable to upload files to the Google Drive storage service or send messages with attachments via Gmail.

Interruptions started to be recorded from noon 20/8, Vietnam time. The incident took place in both Vietnam and many other countries around the world, in which some heavily affected areas were India, Japan, and Australia.

On Twitter, the hashtag #Gmaildown has become one of the most popular keywords. Online services health tracking tool Downdetector also noted an unusual rise in reports of Gmail disruption. Of these, 65% of the errors come from users being unable to attach files.

Thanh Tam, an office worker in Cau Giay (Hanoi), said he could not send mail via Gmail with attachments since early afternoon. "Sending mail with only text is still normal, but when attaching photos, the website reports error. At first I thought there was a problem with the Internet, but many of my partners also reported the same phenomenon," Tam said. .

The above situation doesn't happen to all users. Some users of Gmail and Google Drive said that when trying to switch to another email, sending and receiving is still normal.

Google has not confirmed the problem. However, on the information page of its services, Google displays the state "Disruption" with a wide range of services such as Gmail, Drive, Docs, Chat, Meet, Keep, Voice.
