Ford Equator 2021 launched, a new counterweight to the Toyota Highlander
The large SUV Ford Equator 2021 launched in the Chinese market has both 5-seater, 6-seater and 7-seater versions.
According to Carscoops , the Ford Equator 2021 is a 7-seat "full-size" SUV for the Chinese market, a product from the Jiangling-Ford joint venture. Currently, the image and details of the vehicle are very little.
The Ford Equator 2021 has overall measurements of 4,905 x 1,930 x 1,755 (mm) and a wheelbase of 2,865 mm, respectively. The large SUV has a unique front-end design with a small headlight cluster with LED date lights, a secondary steering light located right above the front inlet and a undercarriage.
At the rear, Equator 2021 is equipped with slim taillights and connected by LED strips that integrate the Ford logo. This rear light design makes the rear end of the new SUV look wider. Right below this logo is a prominent embossed stamp "Equator". Add to that the horizontal reflectors, rectangular exhaust ends, and the subtle fake wind diffuser just for beauty purposes.
Depending on the version, the Ford Equator 2021 will be equipped with alloy rims with diameters of 18 inches, 19 inches and 20 inches. Each rim is designed differently, with tires measuring 245/50 R20, 245/45 R20, 235/50 R19, 235/55 R19 and 235/55 R18.
The interior of the Equator 2021 has yet to be announced. However, the car will have many configurations of 5 seats, 6 seats or 7 seats for customers to choose from. In the premium version, the car will be equipped with a panoramic 2-piece sunroof.
In China, the Ford Equator 2021 is equipped with a 2.0L EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine, producing a maximum capacity of 221 horsepower, combined with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission, comes with rear-wheel and all-wheel drive options. Safety equipment on the car is quite complete with ABS and EBD, VSC, 6 airbags.
The price of the Ford Equator 2021 has not been announced yet. Full-size SUV model is aimed at young, successful customers who like dynamism and elegance. Once sold, the Equator will compete with the Jeep Grand Commander and Toyota Highlander.
